Our classes provide an opportunity for children to socialize and to develop their language skills in a foreign language. Paula works with a remarkably distinctive palette of organic and natural substances — coffee, sumi ink, sorrel, avocado stain, turmeric, cochineal, berry stains — often combined with watercolor, fabric dye, conte, and gold leaf. The use of food and plant matter as pigment feels deeply intentional.
