About Kate: I am a childbirth educator living in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn with my baby daughter, loving partner and two friendly cats. I believe that birth is a rite of passage: powerful and intense. I have seen birth as a doula, birth assistant and now as a mother. I have seen birth in hospitals, birth center and home. I have had heard brave stories, beautiful stories, fearful stories, sad stories,

joyful stories- all of them deeply personal journeys. For the past five years, I worked at the Brooklyn Birthing Center in the capacity of birth assistant and medical assistant. Through that experience I have participated in the prenatal care of many diverse families and had the honor of witnessing over a hundred natural births. Additionally, I am a trained DONA birth and postpartum doula, a participant in the full-spectrum care of women in their reproductive choices as member of the the Doula Project and a herbal apprentice to Karen Rose and the Divine Daughters workgroup.
