Last week, our Grade 6-8 band and choir students had an incredible opportunity to travel to Orlando to learn at Disney's Imagination Campus with Ms. Davis and Ms. Klares.

Band and choir students dove into an immersive workshop exploring how Disney harnesses the power of music in storytelling, in business, and throughout their theme parks. Beyond the classroom, they experienced the magic firsthand with park visits, a Cirque du Soleil show, and unforgettable performances by marching bands and an exceptional a ca****la choir.

It was a trip full of inspiration, learning, and lasting memories.

Congratulations to BIB '22 alum Szymon Snoeck, who was honored with the 2026 Applied Mathematics Faculty Award at Columbia Engineering.

Szymon was recognized for his outstanding achievements in applied mathematics, with a strong focus on algorithms and machine learning for high-dimensional data. He studied the limitations of popular data visualization algorithms, resulting in two publications at the 2026 International Conference on Algorithmic Learning Theory and the 2026 International Conference on Learning Representations. Next year, he will start his PhD in computer science at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University. Driven by a passion for geometry, Szymon continues to explore the intersection of theory and application in modern data science.

His interest in machine learning was apparent back in high school, and we remember his Senior Project on "Saturated Autoencoder as Adversarial Defense" for AI systems.

Our graduates never cease to impress us. Congratulations, Szymon, and to our entire Class of 2022, who just graduated from college!

Our Matilda cast had an incredible opening night, and the magic did not stop on stage. Families gathered at the bottom of our front steps to cheer them on as they departed the stage door. This is one of those sweet traditions that we had to capture and share.

Bravo to our student cast led by the amazing Ms. Markel, Ms. Davis and Ms. Tilly!! Photos of the performance to follow.

“The seniors leaving us this year have set a standard that will echo through our halls long after they have gone,” commented Head of School Josh Harmon. “This class, in particular, has brought a rare combination of dedication and compassion to everything they have done here, and I have no doubt they will carry that same spirit into the university communities they will join next year.”
