On this page, parents and professionals will find information related to education, psychology and child development.
Primarily operating in Brooklyn, New York, The Learning Plant, LLC is composed of three divisions: a day care, an out-of-school-time program and a professional development institute. Following the standards of the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the day care will provide high-quality education using the HighScope Curriculum to develop our youngest typically- and at
ypically-developing citizens. The out-of-school-time program combines art, technology and leadership to foster healthy child and adolescent development. The professional development institute provides workshops designed for professionals related to education and child development. Our goals are to provide a work/life balance for parents, present creative developmental challenges for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, increase digital literacy and leadership skills among adolescents, and cultivate novice professionals. Our vision is to grow exponentially within the next 5 years. We intend to not only offer more seats in our day care, but also expand into a preschool as our youngest citizens age. Also, we intend to expand to more locations and provide out-of-school-time programming in more neighborhoods, like Crown Heights, Bedford-Stuyvesant, and East New York. We plan to host several lecture series and weekly workshops on topics that keep professional educators on the cutting-edge of research. Finally, we are approved providers by New York City and have a solid strategic plan to add quality partnerships with area employers.
