St. Joseph's University - Brooklyn Council for the Arts Making the arts more accessible to the University and surrounding community by presenting professional visual and performing arts accompanied by artist talks

The Council for the Arts at St. Joseph's University is a group of volunteers and the surrounding community that foster and encourage an appreciation and enjoyment of the fine and performing arts. The council develops an enduring love of the arts and encourages active involvement from St. Joseph's students and the surrounding community, either as participants or as informed spectators. We believe that experiencing the power and beauty of dance, theater, music and visual arts will enrich and ultimately transform their lives. The Council for the Arts also exposes the University community to a variety of artistic experiences that involve making contacts, introducing performing artists, developing and implementing programs, such as an artist-in-residence program and helping raise funds to provide these activities.

Thank you to Maria Dominguez for a beautifully curated show, “Inside/Out: Women Artists between Public Space and Studio Practice”, and to all the artist who help create this exquisite exhibition. Thank you to all the familiar faces and longtime friends as well as new visits to the Alumni Gallery at St. Joseph’s University - Brooklyn. And thank you to JuanMa for a live serenade during the opening night tonight. The show runs through October 22 with a couple of artists talks coming up. From St. Joseph’s University - Brooklyn Council for the Arts “Inside/Out: Women Artists Between Public Space and Studio Practice” is installed. As always, work turns into joy when working with wonderful people like Bill, our super talented installer, the curator extraordinaire, Maria, one of the featured artists, Tomo and Maria’s darling husband, JuanMa.

The opening reception is Thursday, September 17 from 5:30 to 8 PM. The gallery is free and open to the public. All are welcome.
