PopUp Factory Engaging the community to create a direct link from designer to the consumer. A thesis project by Kat Coburn and Wyman Mastin

This thesis Project is a joint effort to bring consumer awareness to the educational and manufacturing systems. As designers we will create a process for educational entities to involve local makers and link the consumer with the skills to make and bring awareness to the products they buy. This process will include a pop-up factory and workshops for people to learn new skills and create a link fro

m designer to manufacturers to educator and finally to the consumer and back. This project will engage our community, define consumer needs and produce products on a local level. In combining education, local resources, and
willing laborers, this pop up factory will serve as base for communities to learn skills and make products locally.
