The Writers Foundry Review is back and seeking thesis excerpts from all second-year students! Email your excerpt to Caroline, Amalia, or Alex by Monday, April 13th to be included in WFR’s 2026th issue. (You can also email it to: [email protected])

Prose: Up to 20 pages. This might be a novel or memoir excerpt, a short story paired with a flash fiction, or any other combination of prose pieces.

Poetry: Up to 10 pages. This could be one long poem or 10 page-long poems or anything in between.

(Optional) Visual Art: We need cover art and art between pieces! Feel free to send any hi-res art you’d be comfortable with running in the review.

We can’t wait to read what you’ve been working on!

6 years ago, Tariq Shah published WHITEOUT CONDITIONS, a hilarious and harrowing novel that he wrote during his time here as an MFA student, with Lee Clay Johnson as his Creative Thesis advisor. Amazing book, inspired and inspiring.
