Today we welcomed to in Brooklyn as part of our Gifted Collaboration Project.
Sean brought his trumpet into the studio to test the wireless Electrobones, and the results were incredible.
By placing the sensor directly in the center of the instrument, Electrobones allowed the trumpet to resonate naturally while preserving its original tone and airflow. The placement effectively transformed the instrument into both a melodic and percussive sound source.
Throughout the session, Sean explored tapping on the body of the trumpet, creating rhythmic textures through the valves, and experimenting with different sensor positions to uncover new sounds and performance techniques. The entire instrument became a responsive resonating surface, revealing sonic possibilities that are rarely explored with brass instruments.
One of the most exciting discoveries was how versatile the Electrobones became when removed from the instrument and held in the hand. By using it as a cup mute, Sean was able to alter the trumpet’s tone, shape the resonance, and create expressive acoustic effects while simultaneously capturing those sounds through the sensor. This opened up an entirely new way of interacting with the instrument, allowing the player to move freely between traditional trumpet techniques and experimental sound design.
The session demonstrated how Electrobones can transform virtually any acoustic instrument into a platform for exploration, performance, and creativity without compromising its natural voice.

Today, we had the incredible guitarist visit us at in Brooklyn. As a truly extraordinary player, he gave us an amazing concert in the studio, and we gifted him the to try out. He unboxed the sensor and gave us a honest, heartfelt testimonial and review using his classical guitar to create an authentic, natural acoustic sound.
Electrobones is the world’s first handcrafted wooden acoustic pickup and MIDI trigger designed to easily attach to virtually any instrument with a flat surface edge.
Its ultra thin two piece wooden casing is among the thinnest available on the market, allowing the sensor to remain lightweight, natural, and highly responsive without interfering with the instrument’s resonance or playability.
With a 2.2 inch diameter, Electrobones captures a wide acoustic field, delivering a warm, detailed, and remarkably natural sound response. Whether used on guitar, sitar, oud, cello, upright bass, cajón, percussion, or experimental instruments, Electrobones brings out subtle textures and tonal nuances that traditional pickups often miss.
Unlike anything currently available, Electrobones bridges the gap between acoustic authenticity and modern music technology, functioning both as a high sensitivity acoustic pickup and a dynamic MIDI trigger for live performance and studio production.
