Thought of the Day: Empowering Ways to Impact and Influence Your Audience
One of the ways is to ...
🎉 CREATE A PLAYLIST AND SHARE 😎
Creating playlists holds significant power for independent artists, music educators, and concert/festival organizers alike. It's a potent tool not just for influencing and impacting your audience but also for educating them.
Take, for instance, a recent experience I had with one of my pre-teen students who dismissed classical music as boring. Instead of engaging in debate, I swiftly crafted a Spotify playlist and shared the link. This playlist was carefully curated, featuring pieces by lesser-known composers alongside obscure works by more familiar ones.
The results were astounding. Not only did this playlist captivate my student, but it resonated with their entire circle of family and friends. The feedback poured in, expressing how the playlist enriched their auditory experience. Witnessing the immediate and profound impact of this approach left me in awe.
Influence is key. Rather than dictating tastes, we must strive to influence them. As an independent artist, educator, or concert/festival organizer, you inherently possess the ability to become an influencer within your community or niche. And crafting playlists is a potent means to achieve this.
Being an influencer doesn't necessitate dancing on TikTok; it's about leveraging various avenues to shape perceptions. Playlists, in particular, wield immense influence.
Moreover, in a landscape dominated by algorithms, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. However, by strategically utilizing platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, artists can turn the tide in their favor. These platforms' algorithms reward active engagement, making playlist creation and updates crucial for enhancing visibility and reaching broader audiences.
Suppose you are a concert/festival organizer. In that case, I urge you to start creating a playlist PERIODICALLY and post the link on your website, social media accounts, and even on your email signature. People will start subscribing to your playlist, and that's a great way to attract the right people to attend your events.
Create your playlist today on any music streaming platform or YouTube! Share the link with me—I'd love to hear what's on your playlist, which is a question I ask every guest at the end of my podcast The Piano Pod, so let's keep the rhythm going!
