A member of the BLMHS Class of 1966 and the Loughlin Foundation, Dan Tubridy exemplifies the lasting impact of alumni giving back.

Last week was full of hands-on learning for our Loughlin 101 Lions! 🍦🌿 Students made homemade ice cream with Mr. Effron and later put their teamwork to the test in Prospect Park, where they built survival shelters using fallen branches, logs, rocks, and other natural materials.
Experiences like these help our future Lions learn, grow, and make lasting memories. 🦁💜💛

On July 6, we remember the martyrdom of St. Thomas More, executed in 1535 for remaining faithful to his conscience and to God, even when it cost him his life.

His final words continue to inspire generations:

‘I die the king's good servant, and God's first.’

These words capture why St. Thomas More is the patron of our St. Thomas More Pathway to Law program. More was an accomplished lawyer, scholar, judge, and statesman, but above all, he was a man of unwavering faith, moral courage, and integrity. He reminds us that the pursuit of justice is rooted not only in knowledge of the law but also in the strength of one's character and conscience.

Our program's motto, Lex et Fides — Law and Faith, reflects this ideal. We strive to prepare students to become thoughtful leaders who understand that the law is best served when guided by faith, ethics, and a commitment to the common good.

On this anniversary of his witness, may we be inspired by St. Thomas More's example of courage, conviction, and faithful service.”

⚖️ St. Thomas More Feast Day | June 22

Today, we honor St. Thomas More, patron saint of lawyers and a model of courage, integrity, and faith. His feast day also marks the beginning of Religious Freedom Week (June 22–29) in the United States.

At Bishop Loughlin, our St. Thomas More Pathway to Law prepares students for futures in law, government, and public service through courses in legal studies, constitutional rights, debate, public speaking, and legal writing, while providing real-world experiences through guest speakers, internships, and competitions.

Inspired by St. Thomas More’s commitment to truth and conscience, students learn that the law is not just a profession—it is a calling to serve others with wisdom, justice, and faith.
