Presenting the star of Something Rotten: Shakespeare!! Jokes aside, the Luria production of Something Rotten Jr. was completely phenomenal. Brilliant, professional, and full of wit and joy, our students absolutely awed us. Happy trails to the cast—who knows, musicals might catch on someday!

7-9 had an absolute blast the Prospect Park Zoo! It was an impactful and fun way to connect our students to their unit on South American Zoology. We had the opportunity to see some of the animals we’re researching and writing about for our Celebration of Learning project. The poison dart frog, the emerald tree boa, and the llamas are just three of the fascinating animals our students are exploring. The zoo also gave us the chance to see replicated habitats and witness their behaviors.

6th graders today performed in a Living History Museum! Researching, writing, and performing as their chosen historical figure, students answered questions, presented their stories, and taught other Upper School classes about their moments in history. Of course, the historical figures were coin-operated, just as though they were in a real museum!

Middle Schoolers participated in their own Master Chef competition this week! First, they shopped in groups at Empire Kosher, following recipes in Hebrew and purchasing materials. Then, they cooked, and finally presented their meals to the judges entirely in Hebrew! They made everything from tacos to smoothies to gluten-free crepes, got points on design and presentation, and had a meal of a project :)

9-11 Year 2 students competed in a Hebrew “Master Chef”! Each student selected a recipe, rewrote it in Hebrew, prepared ingredient lists and instructions, designed a personalized Master Chef apron, and ultimately prepped their dishes in class. Former and future Hebrew teachers joined us as judges, creating a special sense of continuity and celebration within the Luria community!
