Community is not something provided to us. True community is something we create together.

When everyone is invited to contribute—and to take responsibility for our shared life—our collective capacity to meet one another’s needs grows exponentially. Not because everyone contributes in the same way or has the same resources, but because everybody has something to offer.

Yes! This also includes children! They are not merely recipients of a city’s care. They have the right to be participants in its creation.

Today is RIE's Day of Giving.

The goal is simple and powerful: 100 Voices for Respect. One hundred people making a gift of any size to say that respectful infant care matters to them. To say that this work should exist in the world.
