: Food Deserts are geographic areas where residents lack access to affordable, healthy food options (especially fruits and veggies) because there are no grocery stores within convenient traveling distance. If you recognize you're living in a food desert, start by making sure your community knows what that means and discuss options like growing your own food, and working with local retailers to sell fresh produce. Bring your ideas and concerns to your council-members and mayor too! Let's bring fresh fruits and veggies to every family in America.
