LIU Brooklyn Tai Chi Club

LIU Brooklyn Tai Chi Club This is official page of Tai Chi Club in LIU (Long Island University) Brooklyn campus started teaching in Manhattan in 2009.

Instructor: Yasumi Cohen (started learning tai chi in 2001 from a soft martial art master in Japan and quickly became a trainer, finally achieving her own certification to teach in 2008. also at Educational Alliance since 2010.)

In club time we do:
“Warming up” exercises to make your body relax;
“Qi-gong” to make the qi (natural energy) circulate throughout your body;
“Tai-chi (14 postures),” where each posture is made for attack and protection but also to make the qi circulate more through your body for better health; and
“Pushing hands,” done with two people to help you understand and then practice tai-chi’s basic movements.
