We need volunteers for our "Walking School Bus Event"

❤️💙 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED — Come Walk With Us! 💙❤️
We're getting ready for the BGM Walking School Bus on Friday, August 28, and we need some awesome community volunteers to help make it happen!
Students and families will meet at Landes Park in Brooklyn and walk to school together — and we need volunteers to help with check-in, our safety huddle, walking with students, and keeping our Walking School Bus together along the route.
⏰ Volunteer arrival: 7:00 AM
🎒 Students arrive: 7:15–7:25 AM
🛡️ Safety Huddle: 7:25 AM
👟 We walk: 7:30 AM SHARP!
It's a small time commitment and a FUN way to start your morning while supporting healthy kids, safe walking habits, and our BGM community!

Join Us for the BGM Walking School Bus!
BGM students and families are invited to Start the Day on the Right Foot on Friday, August 28!
Instead of beginning the morning at school, students can meet us at Landes Park in Brooklyn and join their classmates, families, school staff, and community members as we walk to school together!
Friday, August 28, 2026
📍 Landes Park — Brooklyn, Iowa
7:15–7:25 AM: Students and families arrive at the park
7:25 AM: Welcome & Safety Huddle
7:30 AM: Walking School Bus departs for school
Students should arrive with their backpack and comfortable walking shoes and be ready to leave promptly at 7:30 AM.
Parents and caregivers are welcome and encouraged to join the walk!
Our Walking School Bus is a fun way to encourage physical activity, teach safe pedestrian habits, build connections with friends and neighbors, and help students start their school day energized and ready to learn.

✨ Welcome to the BGM Elementary Office, Ms. Traci! 🐻

We are so excited to welcome Ms. Traci Williams to her new role as our BGM Elementary Secretary! 🥳 Many of you already know her from her years working in our Preschool room, and we are thrilled to have her bring her kindness, caring personality, and love for kids to the elementary office. 🥰

She is doing a fantastic job learning all things office-related... and she has had the BEST trainer to help her along the way! Thank you, Ms. Denise, for sharing your knowledge and helping Traci get settled into her new role. 👏 (And we hope you are enjoying your retirement!) ☺

We know our BGM students and families will give Ms. Traci a warm welcome as she begins this new adventure. We are so lucky to have her on our team, and we can't wait for a fantastic 2026-27 school year! 📚🍎
