Yesterday, Leo, Joe, Luke, Caden, and Chloe took their Hoteikan black belt test and all five passed.

Another epic day that will go down in Hoteikan history. We are incredibly proud of each of you and everything you put into reaching this moment.

Welcome to the Yudansha class.

Shodan represents proficiency in the fundamentals, the foundation upon which everything else is built. You have worked hard to open the door, and now a new chapter begins, filled with endless opportunities to learn, grow, play, and pursue self-mastery as you progress through the degrees.

A Hoteikan black belt test is no easy task. It is a full day of being tested physically, mentally, and spiritually, and you proved ready to meet the challenge.

You now carry the Hoteikan legacy with you. May you train with humility, embrace every challenge, and strive for perfection, not because perfection is ever reached, but because the pursuit of it makes us better.

This is only the beginning.
