Today was a day of celebration and a call to action. I was lucky to make a lot of music today. First, I got to sing at the 40th MLK celebration with the incomparable FIRE ensemble How lucky! The music was amazing at BAM here in Brooklyn where the speakers inspired us to keep making change. Then and I got to practice a lot of Don Giovanni for an upcoming concert. Finally, we were inspired to break out an old favorite of Alicia Keys and Brandi Carlie. It’s been a rough few weeks. We are holding our friends and all those we don’t know in our hearts. We are especially thinking about .kaylynn and her family. Misha’s daughter-in-law was taken by ICE on his week. She is here legally and married to a US citizen. They are doing whatever they can to get her out of custody. I hope Esha’s and my rough take of this song adds a balm and a fire. (And go listen to the original. It’s amazing! ) ♥️♥️♥️♥️🌈🌈🌈

There’s something particularly satisfying about a beautifully prepared cappuccino on a fun glass at a small spot in NYC. Sometimes it’s hard to quiet the thoughts that spin. One thing that always helps is to take time in nature.

I’ve been lucky this summer to be in both NH and CO this summer with people and a dog I love!
