During the school week, our children spend about 50% of their waking hours with a PS 38 teacher. They’re learning academic building blocks for middle school and beyond. Even more important, our teachers are showing them how to be kinder humans.

Arts at PS 38 need our help! 💙At PS 38, we believe all 570 of our students should have access to Brooklyn’s world-class arts like Mark Morris Dance Center, Created by Kids, steel pan lessons, Brooklyn Museum, violins, puppetry and so much more!
💛Unfortunately, two of the school's usual community grants were not offered this year, while costs for some arts programs rose.
💙We're asking our families and neighbors to help us raise $10,000 to fund arts residencies for all at PS 38.

Today was such a special Family Friday at PS 38. ❤️
On the first Friday of every month, families are welcomed into their childrens’ classrooms to see what they’ve been up to and meet other parents.
Today we had a double celebration: Red Envelope making ahead of AND live African drummers celebrating to welcome families as they entered the building.

We’ve kicked off the second semester of chess lessons at PS 38! 🤓 Our brilliant Kindergartners were on their feet last week, learning moves they will later build into strategies. Every child, from Kindergarten through 5th grade, will learn how to play chess this year.
🧠 How does learning chess benefit our kids in every day life? Studies show it builds memory capacity, attention spans and analytical thinking. In a world of You Tube and Tik Tok, we’ll take those benefits!
