International Dot Day is celebrated globally every year on September 15th to encourage creativity, courage, and collaboration.

The event is inspired by the beloved children's book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. The story follows a doubting student named Vashti who thinks she cannot draw. Her art teacher encourages her to make a simple dot on paper and sign it. This small act sparks a journey of self-discovery, confidence, and artistic expression.

So wear your best dot clothes, socks, accessories, etc! Be creative!!!!

Many thanks to the Scouts BSA Troop 44 - Brooklyn CT, East Brooklyn Fire Department and Mortlake Fire Company, Walmart Supercenter Brooklyn, Vachon Cars, those who donated food, and our Brooklyn Schools PTO for an amazing back to school BBQ! It was a great way to welcome everyone back for this school year!

🚗 Parent Drop-Off Reminder 🐻💛❤️

As we get back into our school routines, we wanted to share a few quick reminders to help keep morning drop-off safe and moving smoothly for everyone!

🚘 Parent / Guardians - please remain in your vehicle while in the parent drop-off line. Staff members are available to help students exit safely.

If possible, please have your child seated on the DRIVER’S SIDE of the vehicle so they can exit directly onto the sidewalk quickly and safely.

🎒 Having backpacks, lunchboxes, and other belongings ready to go before reaching the drop-off area also helps keep the line moving!

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as everyone settles into the new school year. These small steps make a BIG difference in keeping our BES Bears safe and getting everyone into school ready for a great day! 🐻❤️💛
