📚 ASL Storytime with the Holley Institute

Join us for a fun-filled, family-friendly event where we’ll read a book in American Sign Language (ASL)! Everyone is welcome—kids, parents, and caregivers.

Today, our Community Health and Literacy Program Deaf Mentors took part in training on the ASL at Home curriculum — another opportunity to continue building our knowledge, strengthening our skills, and finding new ways to support the Deaf children and families we work with.

Language is always evolving, and so are we. 🫶

📚 Registration is NOW OPEN for Family Literacy Weekend!

Join us October Friday 23–Sunday 25, 2026, at Holley Family Village for a weekend dedicated to strengthening language, literacy, and family connections through American Sign Language.

Family Literacy Weekend is designed for parents and legal guardians of Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing children ages 2–12. Hearing siblings of any age are welcome to attend if they have a Deaf, DeafBlind, or Hard of Hearing sibling.

Throughout the weekend, families will:
🤟 Learn alongside our Deaf Community Health & Literacy Program (CHLP) mentors
📚 Build literacy skills through ASL stories and language-rich activities
💙 Participate in engaging workshops and family learning experiences
🤝 Connect with other families raising Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing children

Families are welcome from any state, and registration includes lodging, meals, workshops, activities, and program materials.

We are incredibly grateful to for awarding The Holley Institute a $10,000 grant in support of our Community Health and Literacy Program!

We were honored to be selected as a 2026 finalist and to share how this program connects Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing children and families with Deaf mentors, American Sign Language, early literacy support, and valuable community resources.

This generous grant will help us continue strengthening communication, confidence, connection, and belonging for the families we serve.
