Stars will eventually exhaust their fuel. Galaxies will dim as star formation stops. White dwarfs will cool into black dwarfs. Neutron stars will drift silently. Even black holes, once thought eternal, are predicted to evaporate through Hawking radiation over timescales so vast they make billions of years feel microscopic.

As the universe expands, energy becomes more diluted. Temperature differences disappear. And without temperature differences, no useful work can be done. No engines can run. No chemistry can proceed. No life can persist. Entropy wins not by violence, but by uniformity.

Heat death is not the end of matter. It is the end of change. The universe does not shut down. It simply runs out of gradients to power anything interesting.

A quiet universe.
Not destroyed.
