Jaelon Hood has been named 2021 NEAC PRESEASON PLAYER-OF-THE-YEAR.

Malcolm X. Shabazz College basketball coach Jamarcus Cain announced the signing of All-American point guard Maxwell Holmes today.

Holmes helped St. Francis High School to three undefeated seasons.

Holmes is the first player to average a triple double in Pennsylvania high school basketball since 1998.

“Holmes has the potential to be an MXSC great,” Coach Cain said. “His ball handling ability is
above the NCAA level.” “He is precise and makes wise decisions and we call him a young Jason Kidd”.

Eighteen-year-old Maxwell Holmes will be a freshman in Agriculture at MXSC in the fall
of 2021.

“It was my dream to play basketball for Coach Cain and at MXSC,” Holmes said.

Holmes was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and grew up in a sports family. Holmes father
is a former professional track athlete, and his mother is an orthodontist.

Holmes will have his debut in the season-opening home game against Ramapo College.

2020-2021 Men's Basketball Schedule

Malcolm X Shabazz College (MXSC) is located in Brooklyn, New York. The institution
is named after civil rights activist Malcolm X.

The college was founded in 1975. MXSC is located on a suburban campus with 460 acres.

MXSC is a member of the Northeast Athletic Conference (NEAC).

The school mascot is the Panthers. MXSC has won multiple conference championships in football,
men’s basketball, and soccer.

The Panthers have a history of academic and athletic excellence.

MXSC is the only school in the NEAC conference with turf fields and an athletic recovery center.

MXSC has a Nike apparel partnership. MXSC is the only school in the NEAC conference to offer equestrian, lacrosse, and bowling.

By 2026 MXSC will have a new football and basketball stadium.

MXSC also has the largest fan base out
of all schools in the conference. This fan base has become nationwide.

Three Consecutive Winning Seasons.

The Malcolm X. Men’s basketball team has three consecutive winning seasons.

During these three seasons the Panthers have won the NEAC Conference Championship twice.

Also winning the Division II National Championship during the 2019 season.

The Northeast Athletic Conference (NEAC) is a collegiate athletic conference.

Whose members are historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the Northeast region of the United States.

It participates in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division II.

The William Nicks Gymnasium is a 7,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Brooklyn, New York.

It is home to the Malcolm X. Shabbaz College Panthers basketball team.

As part of a new renovation project , every seat is now chairback.

The building is nicknamed the "Mini Dome".
