We ask children all the time, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” 💭
A doctor. A teacher. An astronaut. An artist. A firefighter. 🚀🎨
But maybe before asking them what they want to become, we should give them the space to simply be kids.
To play. To explore. To make a mess. To ask a million questions. To laugh loudly. To make friends. To discover what they love at their own pace. 🤍
Because childhood isn’t a race to prepare for adulthood. It’s a beautiful, important part of life all on its own.
Of course, we want our children to grow into successful adults—but even more than that, we want them to be happy, brave, kind, curious, confident, resilient, and strong enough to face whatever life brings their way.
And those qualities aren’t built through pressure. They’re built through love, encouragement, patience, play, and knowing they have a safe place to learn and grow.
So when they’re little, let’s worry a little less about who they’ll become someday—and celebrate exactly who they are today. 🌱✨
They have plenty of time to grow up. Let them be little. 🤍
