“Bay Ridge Catholic is really preparing our kids for their future and beyond.” 💙💚

When BRC mom of three Renata Giles took her seventh grader to a high school open house, she saw firsthand how ready her daughter is for what comes next. Rigorous academics, middle school electives, after-school activities and clubs, and teachers who know and love every child. That’s the BRC difference.

Thank you, Renata, for sharing your family’s story, and thank you to our incredible faculty for shaping and guiding our students every day. 🙏

Come see it for yourself! We would love to welcome your family for a personal tour. Email Principal Morisi at [email protected] to schedule a visit.

Second graders in Mr. Silva’s and Ms. Lopez’s classes joined Mrs. Deem in the STEM Lab this week to plan, build and test their own Walking Trail Models!
Along the way they investigated forms of matter in everyday life, watching a liquid mix set into a solid path and pressing in colorful stones to finish each trail. Hands-on science, real engineering habits, and plenty of great questions.

Our Grade 4 scientists are on the move! In Mrs. Deem’s STEM Lab, students investigated how mass and force affect the motion of an object. They tested, measured, and recorded their results like real scientists.

What a week at Bay Ridge Catholic! 🍂
From big smiles at morning arrival to hands raised high in the classroom, our students filled every day with faith, learning, and joy. We wrapped it all up in our very own pumpkin patch! 🎃
This is what it looks like when a school feels like family. 💙💚

Fall is for discovery in Ms. Sullivan’s Kindergarten!
This week our youngest scientists learned how a plant grows, from seed to sprout to seedling to flower. 🌱🌸
Then we brought fall inside! With real leaves in hand, the class described what they saw and felt: smooth or crunchy, green or gold, and how the stem holds a leaf up and carries water to it.
To finish, they built tissue paper leaves to show how colors change in the fall. Tearing, gluing, and pressing every little square is also great practice for the fine motor skills that grow strong writers. ✂️🍁
Curious hearts. Hands-on learning. Rooted in faith. 💙💚

In Mr. Hunter’s 5th grade math class, decimals are just fractions in disguise! 🔢

Our students lead the learning, taking the marker to break down every place value: tenths, hundredths, and thousandths. In small groups, they work through problems together and build the confidence to think independently. Mr. Hunter is preparing his 5th graders to be successful middle school students.

Every place value counts at Bay Ridge Catholic. 💙💚

We are so proud of our students and teachers! 🎉
On the spring 2026 New York State tests, Bay Ridge Catholic students outscored New York City public schools in both ELA and math. A few highlights:
📚 69% proficient in ELA, compared with 59% in District 20 and 50% citywide
➗ 93% of our 4th graders proficient in math
🔬 89% of our 8th graders proficient in science, compared with 67% in District 20
📈 One class nearly doubled its math proficiency in a single year
Results like these come from teachers who know every child by name. Thank you, BRC faculty, for the gift of your vocation! 💙💚
