🌟 Remembering Dave Sweeney, aka “Dave Gold” 🌟
We bid farewell to a truly unique soul, Dave Sweeney, better known in the world of entertainment as “Dave Gold.” Dave was a vibrant director, producer, and TV personality, instantly recognizable by his quirky glasses and signature big fake cigar.
I had the honor of collaborating with Dave from 2003 to 2013 at MMN Studios for local TV in New York. One of our unforgettable projects was the short, humorous film “Last Tango in New York.” Dave also welcomed me into his world on the “Dave Gold Show,” where I had the joy of playing various guest roles in episodes like “All about Eva,” “Return from the Past,” “The Return of Eva,” “Jacky and Steve... and Sheila,” “8 Ways to Attract a Guy,” “8 Ways to Get Rid of a Guy,” and many more, including the beloved “Santa Claus Show.”
Dave was a beacon of support, wildly original and fun, reliable, and sincerely kind. He embraced people from all walks of life, viewing the world through a humorous lens. Beyond his work in television, he was a talented writer, crafting screenplays and poems that he proudly published. I know he spoke with deep affection about his brothers.
Dave, you will be profoundly missed. I hope that one day, all of your incredible work will be shared on YouTube for the world to enjoy and remember forever.
Rest in peace, dear friend. Your legacy will live on.

Rachael Faucett, ‘s mom died today February 19th,1768. I had a blast writing about her and bringing her to life in She inspired a genius and shaped greatness amidst adversity. Her own life was just as turbulent as that of Alexander Hamilton.

These were the good old days: in the nighties I was heavily involved in a local TV Program in Amsterdam with my favorite director Edwin Brienen It was a lot of fun: dancing on graveyards, getting killed by serial killers, playing psychopaths and having s*x in a slaughterhouse.
“Ultra Vista!” was a monthly TV show on Amsterdam cable, broadcast between February 1996 and September 1999, created by Edwin Brienen and Suzanne Jansonius. It was our absurd take on everyday life, featuring sketches and reports, produced on public access to allow complete freedom over the material and context.
Soon, the show was picked up by national media. There were, for example, guest appearances on Patty Brard’s TV show on Veronica, and articles in magazines such as BLVD, OOR, and Vrij Nederland. The latter wrote:
“Sex in the slaughterhouse, aerobics classes in cemeteries, and Heinrich with sunglasses who can ask Patty Brard anything because he is Heinrich. When Sjef van Oekel meets Jiskefet.”

On November 7, 2025, we eloped to Grenada and got married with just two witnesses. We’re truly sorry we couldn’t invite everyone—it was an all-or-nothing decision because we care about so many people. A big wedding would have required much more planning and waiting, and besides, it’s such a private and personal moment, isn’t it? But don’t worry, we didn’t want to rob anyone of a celebration. We look forward to celebrating with everyone individually or in small groups later.
