Birch Grove PTO hosted Trunk or Treat for our families last night. It was super fun & creativity was in full effect! Staff & Parent trunks were great. Weather was amazing.💙

Every day all students in first through sixth grades have 45 minutes of instruction by a specialist in visual arts, drama, music, or physical education/movement. Children in half day kindergarten have 20 minutes of instruction by arts specialists several days a week. The specially equipped visual arts studio, black box theater, and gymnasium provide unique environments for creativity and standards

Summer Reading keeps students engaged and learning. If you find library books at home -- keep reading and return them when school starts again. Thanks much for those that got returned this week.

Students checked out over 10,000 books from the BG Library this year!
Please help meet the challenge to get them returned to school before summer. We would like to see every grade get down to less than 10 lost books per grade. This chart shows how many are missing per grade. Avg book cost x 311 books = more than $3000.
Check closets, drawers and under the bed -- Thank you!

All after-school and evening activities in Osseo Area Schools have been canceled for today, Monday, April 28, 2025, due to the threat of severe weather. Kidstop and Four Star Express school-age care will remain open until all children have been picked up.

Every day all students in Kindergarten through fifth grades have 45 minutes of instruction by a specialist in visual arts, drama, music, or physical education/movement. The specially equipped visual arts studio, black box theater, and gymnasium provide unique environments for creativity and standards-based skill development. In a six-day cycle, students at Birch Grove have 150 more minutes of instruction in the arts than students at a traditional elementary school.
… through the arts?
Every day classroom teachers teach academic subjects through various arts connections. It’s very common to see students role-playing, drawing, singing, chanting, improvising, or moving as they learn math, language arts, reading, social studies, science, or health. Plus, arts specialists integrate skills and content from academic classrooms into their arts lessons.
In traditional elementary schools there are always a few teachers who embrace an arts-rich philosophy, but even greater power comes when the entire school community is Learning through our Passion for the Arts!
