Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association (MPMA)

Once a month we want to remind you about the MPMA Job Board. We are getting new jobs submitted weekly (almost daily). We are providing flyers to community partners with QR codes directing them to our Job Board. MPMA is also attending many job fairs continually adding new job seekers that look at our job board. And the icing on the cake is that the MPMA Job Board is now connected to the Minnesota Manufacturing Pathways Portal. This portal currently has about 300 job seekers who have willingly put their information into the portal because they are actively looking for a career in manufacturing.

Be sure to have your HR or hiring manager add MPMA to their list of people to post job openings with. Let's get those jobs filled!

June is Safety Month!

It is a great time to stop and evaluate safety measures at your shop. We think we have a plan in place, but often times processes need to be updated annually. We have a few members that can help you with your shop safety needs.

On Thursday the MPMA Education Foundation Board got together to award our scholarship winners. We had an excellent pool of applicants this year. The 16 winners will be notified via email next week!

Thank you to the board members for taking the time to dedicate to helping strengthen the precision manufacturing workforce in Minnesota.

Last week MPMA President, Steve Kalina had the opportunity to attend the MTEEA High School Super Mileage competition at Brainerd International Raceway.

This event is an amazing display of high school students building and engineering cars to perform in different categories using a measured amount of fuel. It is impressive to see them work together on these cars. It is hours and hours of their free time to make the car a success.

A special congratulations to the Armstrong #13 car for winning our Quality of Craftsmanship award and thanks to Mars Supply for their donation. There are many industry partners that support these students by helping them produce customized parts for their cars.

The MPMA Education Foundation was happy to feed these 350 hungry minds with pizza for the day!

Congratulations to all the students, teachers, parent volunteers, industry donors, and others who make this event possible.

We love to see industry partnering with education to build the next generation of precision manufacturers in Minnesota. On Friday, Metal Trade Solutions LLC of Winsted MN, in conjunction with Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association (MPMA), presented Mrs. Roeglin, CTE teacher at Watertown-Mayer H.S., and Jim Burns, School Board member, with a banner for the shop. MPMA and MTS are proud to support Career and Technical Education pathways in Minnesota High Schools. Precision manufacturing offers modern, clean careers with highly competitive wages. MTS is also a proud former employer of work-based learning students from Watertown-Mayer.

Graduation season is in full swing! From college to tech school to high school. The MPMA Job Board is full of opportunities.
