The fights were epic. Some of the best ive seen from our team. All fought with great heart of which i am super proud of all of the team for their work. No sloutches here, and all of them earned the respect of our competitors.

Our overall results were 1-7. Not what we had expected given the tenacity and spirit of our team. Our lone win going to Derric, well done. We had big battles, close close fights and 1 arguably bad call. Again everyone fought well and I am proud and moved.

A very special shout out too to the coaches that were both on hand in the lockerroom as well as the drivers of the camp.. Matt "Yeti" Larson, Damion Hill, Jan Corpus, BJ VanBeusekom the helpers Aaron Skipitaris and Kyle Hedemark. Renae Taylor for her fighter maintenance..(my appologies if i inadvertently left anyone out)

And most especially Coach Derek Getzel

That man championed and pushed the camp, cornered, spent extra time with the fighters and wrapped every single hand (16 of them) last night... we owe Derek dinner and a hotel for he and his wife at the very least.

Thank you sir for all of it, wow.

So now is the test.

It is how one handles a defeat and how well and quickly he turns it around that demonstrates champion qualities. We learn, we adapt and like Chuck Norris recently said, we "level up". I dont want to see any heads hanging low. everyone should be proud that they fought hard against hard opponents and there is no shame in that.

I too will be head high with pride. I am honored, gentlemen, truly, to know you and be a part of your journey.
