Brooklyn Center Community Schools Brooklyn Center Community Schools is a small suburban district located on the northwest border of Minneapolis.

BCCS endeavors to be a collective who demonstrates passion, pride and perseverance. We will fiercely lead the way in justice-centered education, striving against the permanence of racism and oppressive systems while embracing a future where our diversity fuels learning. With every breath in our bodies, every ounce of influence we possess, and through every challenge, we stand front and center with

Join us in welcoming Sophie Kelly to BCCS! Sophie joins Brooklyn Center Elementary as a social worker, and shared why she chose our district: “The second I walked into the interview, the building felt so warm and friendly. It was immediately clear that there was an incredible amount of joy and community happening here. Landing this role truly feels like a dream job, and I couldn't be more excited to be a part of this amazing community!”

Meet Sarah Liedman, who joins Brooklyn Center Elementary this year as a special education teacher! She shared why she chose BCCS: “I believe that every learner deserves to feel seen, valued, and empowered. BCCS is a community that is cultivated around the mission of celebrating and fueling the unique genius of every student and I am eager to create a space that represents this mission. I look forward to becoming a part of this community and helping students thrive, reflect, and grow to make meaningful contributions to their communities.”

We’re excited to welcome Lauren Meyer to BCCS this year as an occupational therapist at Brooklyn Center Elementary! “I felt a great sense of community when I toured the building and felt very supported by staff members when making my decision to join BCCS,” she shared.

Outside of work, Lauren is a cheer coach and a dog mom to a golden retriever who thinks he is a lap dog!
