Brookline Early Education Program, Public Schools of Brookline This is the official page for the Brookline Early Education Program (BEEP) located in Brookline, MA. Growth goes hand in hand with change.

The Brookline Early Education Program is an outgrowth of the Brookline Early Education Project (BEEP), a ten year research project demonstrating that quality education for young children enhances their later success in school. All teachers who work in BEEP classrooms are employed by The Public Schools of Brookline and hold degrees and certification through the Department of Education. Parent fees,

grants and the Public Schools fund these programs. The Brookline Early Education Program has a long history of service to young children and their families providing rich, developmentally appropriate educational opportunities in inclusive classrooms throughout the community. The program had grown to over 300 students in all of the elementary schools as well as the High School and Lynch Center; however, due to substantial increases in enrollment system-wide, a number of the early education programs needed to move to off-site locations. This provided unique opportunities and illustrates the need for consistency in program model, school values and traditions. It is our goal to support our changing structure with open communication and transparency.

Nothing matters more in the education of young children than social-emotional well-being, this is the foundation upon which learning can grow. Caring for and about their friends gives children a sense of connection. In early education and in life, friends mean everything!

Farewell dinner with our colleagues from China, three weeks of observing and debriefing our BEEP model so the joy of BEEP can emerge in a country so far away. There is something universal, however, about the heart and soul of those whose passion is in educating young children.

Dear BEEP Community.

It was with gratitude and sadness that I have submitted my intent to retire at the close of the school year (June 30). I have been gifted with so many wonderful experiences in this community that it is hard to measure. Most importantly, I have worked in a school system that both appreciated and embraced the importance of early education and its role it plays in ensuring positive outcomes for our children.

To my BEEP colleagues:I have spent my years in Brookline surrounded by the most extraordinary professionals in the world of early education. Without each and every one, BEEP would not have made the impact it has both in Brookline and around the world. I have seen your outreach as you have embraced every child and reassured every family with your attention to their needs as well as their child's. My admiration for your work knows no bounds, and my appreciation for your spirit has uplifted me in the most trying of times.

To my BEEP families: Every drop off, pick up and classroom event has brought us together as partners in the education of your children. I have always been grateful for your trust and privileged to serve as an Early Education Principal in a community where families support us with a generous spirit and an endless commitment to our goals. We are a strong community because no child is turned away due to a special need or a family’s ability to pay. At the same time we have maintained the high quality of early education at our core with adaptations, modifications and enhancements to meet the needs of every child in our care. I am proud to say that we welcome educators from all over the globe to observe the magic of BEEP classrooms. How fortunate I feel to have been a part of such a rich community of Brookline families!

Thank you all for the most wonderful years of work an early educator could dream of. It has been a privilege to be among you through all of the changes, challenges, achievements and joy. My heart will be with you as we say goodbye at the close of this school year.

Much Love,
Vicki
