šŸŒ¶ļø Your spicy nuggets are looking for attentionā€¦ so letā€™s give it to them BEFORE they have to misbehave to get it.

Sometimes the win is big. Sometimes itā€™s lining up, getting out a book, sharpening a pencilā€¦ or simply not rolling their eyes at you. šŸ˜‚

Call it out. Praise it. Be specific.

The more positive attention we give for the behaviors we want to see, the less students need to seek that attention in ways that derail the classroom.

āœØ Stop spinning your wheels reacting to behavior. Start investing that energy in noticing whatā€™s going right.

Try it tomorrow: Find that student who usually gets your attention for the wrong reasons and catch them doing something right.

Itā€™s so easy to get caught up in the trenches of it allā€”the behaviors, the paperwork, the endless to-do lists, and those days when nothing seems to go quite as planned.

But donā€™t lose sight of this:

You care.
You show up.
You keep trying.
And the children in your classroom are better because YOU are there.

So on the hard days, give yourself a little grace and rememberā€”youā€™re doing important work, even when it doesnā€™t feel like it. ā¤ļø

How do I recharge as a busy mom and entrepreneur? šŸ’›

The truth is, Iā€™m still figuring that out.

Running a business, traveling, presenting, consulting, creatingā€”and still being Momā€”means there isnā€™t always a perfect moment to stop and recharge.

So sometimes, recharging looks like simply taking a breath. Slowing down for a minute. Looking around at the life Iā€™ve built and remembering why I started Education Advisors in the first place.

I get to help educators see behavior differently. I get to walk into classrooms, offer real strategies, and help create environments where both students and teachers can be more successful.

And then I get to come home and be Mom.

Itā€™s busy. Itā€™s messy. And some weeks, the balance is definitely more of a juggling act. šŸ˜‚

But taking a moment to appreciate the life Iā€™ve createdā€”and the people I get to help along the wayā€”is one of the best ways I know to recharge. šŸ’›

hildren deserve books that help them feel understoodā€”not defined by a diagnosis.

On Saturday, September 19, I will be at Bookery Manchester for a special reading of My Boy and His ADHD: A Dogā€™s Perspective. Told through the eyes of a childā€™s dog, the book offers young readers a compassionate and strength-based way to understand ADHD.

As an educator, educational consultant, author, and parent of children with ADHD, I wrote this story to help children recognize that their brains may work differentlyā€”and that those differences can come with incredible strengths.

The free, one-hour event will include:

ā€¢ A read-aloud
ā€¢ Family activities and crafts
ā€¢ A meet-and-greet and conversation with the author

Behind every child with ADHD is often a parent doing a thousand things no one else sees. šŸ’›

The reminders.
The routines.
The school emails.
The homework negotiations.
The appointments.
The research.
The advocating.

The worrying about whether youā€™re doing too muchā€¦or somehow not enough.

And then waking up the next day and doing it all over again.

Parenting a child with ADHD can be incredibly rewardingā€”but it can also be exhausting in ways that are hard to explain to someone who hasnā€™t lived it.
So if youā€™re in a season where youā€™re tired, overwhelmed, or questioning yourself, I hope you remember this:

Your child doesnā€™t need a perfect parent. They need someone who keeps showing up, keeps learning, keeps advocating, and keeps loving them exactly as they are. ā¤ļø

And some days, that is more than enough.
