SEBMS softball took the win against Snelson Golden yesterday with a 15-hit performance. We also recognized our 8th graders! Leaders at the plate were Maddie Waters, Kinslee Nesmith, Paisley Horton, Branan Sheffield, Kinsley Bath, Madi Lightle, and Leeyah Overstreet, who each had 2 hits.
Leeyah delivered the game-winning hit in the bottom of the 6th to close it out.
We are so proud of our 8th graders and the whole team!

SEBMS FFA Dominates Central Region Rally!

24 FFA members travelled to Perry, Georgia to compete and participate in the annual Central Region Rally this past Tuesday. FFA chapters in Area 4 of the Georgia FFA Association join together for fellowship, leadership, service, and competition!

The following awards were won by SEBMS FFA:
Ag Olympics: 1st Place Middle School - Zanai Perry, Layne Conner, Hope Sellers, Korbin Kinsey, Aubrey Howell
Ag Mechanics Relay: 1st Place Middle School - David Herring, Wyatt Emley, Browning Townsend, Jace Conner
Lumberjack Relay: 1st Place Middle School (Terran Miller, David Herring, Wyatt Emley, Hope Sellers)
Ag Mechanics ID: 1st Place - David Herring
Forestry ID: 1st Place - Hope Sellers; 2nd Place - Zanai Perry
Horticulture ID: 1st Place - Mel Blake
Animal Science ID: 2nd Place - Hope Sellers

SEBMS FFA also won the community service competition by bringing in an astounding 2,139 pounds of non-perishable food items! With all placing, Southeast Bulloch Middle School FFA was named Overall Middle School in Area 4!

Today, we kicked off our "Count me in for $10" fundraiser! This is the best kind of fundraiser because it's no-fuss! We just ask students to bring in $10 and 100% of the donations will go towards funding our student reward programs for the year! Today we raised $71! We are a long way from our goal of $9000, but if every student brings $10, we will surpass our goal!

Mrs. Swint and Mrs. Alligood's 8th grade ELA class honored the service members and lives lost during our nation's tragic events from 9/11 twenty-five years ago. They watched the biography of Welles Crowther, "The Man in the Red Bandana." In response to the tribute video, students committed to one act of kindness they will carry out today in honor of Welles and others we lost that day.
