Week 2 of jump rope started off with a bang! We got our first 2 “1 minute club” jumpers and look at all those Kangaroo Club members! 🤩👏🏼

Next week we’ll be having visitors from NEA Tennis come and show/tell the students about tennis. It’s always a fun time when they come! Getting them started in tennis camps be a great opportunity to get your kiddos outside and active with warmer weather!

Speedstacking benefits

* The child crosses their midline so they are using both the right and left hemispheres of their brains.

* Because they are tracking the movement of their hands and cups this helps their visual processing skills, which is important for reading and writing development. Watching screens causes them to lock their eyes on one thing, which causes atrophy in the the muscles that control eye movement.

* Children use bilateral coordination. This helps the brain develop on both sides. Doing this helps the right side of the brain to build increased awareness, creativity and focus.

* Becoming more accurate with bilateral and hand-eye coordination requires faster reaction time and retaining visual information quicker - important for exams and tests.

* Sequencing and patterning elements that help build math skills
