🎉 Something big is coming to Vermillion this fall — and we are SO excited to finally share it! 🎉

Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains and the Vermillion School District are proud to announce the **Vermillion Early Childhood Enrichment Collaborative (VECEC)** — a brand-new public-private partnership built to give every Vermillion family access to safe, structured, kindergarten-readiness programming, no matter your work schedule or income.

**Here's how simple it is:**
Drop your child off at the Club in the morning. The School District handles midday transportation to and from preschool. You pick them up at the Club at the end of the day. One drop-off. One pickup. We handle everything in between — 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 💛

**And yes — we're open on most snow days and no-school days at no extra cost.** No scrambling. No stress. Just reliable care you can count on.

The VECEC serves children ages 3–4 beginning **August 10, 2026**, at 300 High Street, Vermillion. Head Start families are welcome, and Child Care Assistance and scholarships may be available — don't let cost be a barrier. Ask us!

📅 **Save the date: Community Open House — Thursday, June 11, 2026.** Come tour the facility, meet our amazing staff, and get all your questions answered. Families curious about summer programming are welcome too!

🌟 Big news for the Brookings Clubhouse!

We're proud to be part of Quality Care South Dakota — a statewide program that helps early childhood centers like ours set higher standards and keep getting better for the kids we serve.

Our coach Maria recently visited to work alongside three of our lead teachers, setting goals and building a roadmap for continuous growth. It's the kind of partnership that makes a real difference — for our staff, and most importantly, for your little ones.

As a welcome to the program, we received brand-new infant and toddler toys designed to deepen learning through play. 🧸 [See them in the photo below!]

At the Clubhouse, good enough is never the goal. Great Futures Start Here — and it starts on day one.

✨ Holiday Fun & Learning in Action! ✨

Yesterday, our kiddos explored a festive mix of magnets and jingle bells! 🎄🔔

Through hands-on play, they practiced:
🧲 Problem-solving as they tested what the magnets would pick up
🔔 Cause and effect while experimenting with the bells
🤲 Fine motor skills as they built, sorted, and created
😊 Joyful teamwork as they shared materials and discoveries

With potential interruptions to SNAP benefits, we understand some families may be feeling uncertain, and we’re here to help.

🍽️ Nutritious Evening Meals
Every child deserves a safe space, caring mentors, and a healthy meal after school.

Through our Great Futures Initiative, we’re offering evening meals served nightly at the Club for all youth members (Grades JK–12).

To make participation easy, we’re also waiving the $100 membership fee for new 2025 members who join in November or December.
