BHSD School District Facebook Guidelines

The Brookings-Harbor School District Facebook Fan Page is provided for the district community. We will update this page as often as possible to share as much as we can about our schools and the achievements of the students and staff as well as other relevant district information. All posting of comments on this page are at the discretion of the page administrators. The intent of this policy is not to keep any negative or critical information from being posted, but to protect the privacy and rights of Brookings-Harbor School District (BHSD) staff and students. The page administrators reserve the right to post or remove any comments at any time, for any reason…but we hope that won’t ever be necessary. Repeat violators will be banned from this site. If you wish to make us aware of an issue in your school, or if you have a complaint against a staff member, please contact the school directly to protect the privacy of the students involved. We have ran out of our local tuna that is caught off our coast and canned in Charleston. We will now do a chicken casserole instead of a TUNA for Wednesday 10/14. Apologies for the change. Have a most restful evening.

oin us for an evening of family fun as we celebrate the end of the first quarter! Our Parking Lot Movie Night will feature Minions & Monsters on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the front parking lot of Kalmiopsis Elementary School, off Easy Street.
Bring your chairs and blankets, bundle up, and settle in for a movie under the stars. Popcorn will be provided, and glow sticks will be available for kids!
Families must attend with their children and supervise them throughout the evening so everyone can enjoy the show.

Calendar reminder: Friday, Oct. 30, is a no-school day for students for Teacher Grading Day/End of Quarter 1. Enjoy the day off from classes, then come together that evening to celebrate a quarter of learning! We look forward to seeing you at movie night!

Can you believe it's October!? Our elementary school joins in the fun of the annual Homecoming Week coming up October 19-23rd with our own Spirit Week dress up fun for the Kschoolers. Here is the schedule for 2026. Monday, Oct. 19: Crazy hair day; Tuesday, Oct. 20: Athlete Day; Wednesday, Oct. 21: Twin Day; Thursday, Oct. 22: Pajama Day; and Friday, Oct. 23: Blue and Gold Day (Go Bruins!).

It's tonight! Join us for the Kalmiopsis Back to School Community Information Night, Thursday, September 3rd at 5:30 PM in the Kalmiopsis Elementary Cafeteria/Gym. Stop by to meet local community programs and organizations, and stay for a free spaghetti dinner!

Groups joining us tonight: Safety City, Good News Club, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, ADAPT, Juvenile Services, Early Intervention, Wild Rivers Dance, Public Library, District Office, Band, PTO, School Counselor, Book Fair, Premiere Community Support, 4-H, Lions Foundation, Master Gardeners, Smart Readers, ODHS Foster Care & Respite, and Every Child Curry Program.

Thank you to all of the Kalmiopsis families who came in for conferences yesterday and today. Starting the year with a face-to-face conversation between families and teachers makes a real difference, and we appreciate you making the time.

Now for the fun part. Grades K-5, we will see you tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 2, for the first day of school!! Get some sleep, Bruins.
