Our two graduate students presented posters on their research at the National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic in Sioux Falls, SD, in early March. Shelby Isensee received 1st place for best overall research, and Nash Jackson received 3rd place!

We are so proud of all we accomplished this year to advance women’s retention in hunting and fishing. We can't thank everyone enough for helping our team throughout 2023.

Shelby and Dr. Lauren Redmore had the opportunity to spent time learning from women at the Montana Becoming an Outdoors - Woman workshop from August 18th - 20th.

At the workshop, there were numerous classes that women could participate in. A few classes that Shelby and Dr. Redmore were able to participate in included Fly Tying/Hatch ID, Archery, Plant ID, Beginning Fly Fishing, Beginner Shotgun, and Wilderness Survival.

In June, Nash was able to attend the Novice Pointing Dog Camp in Sundance, WY, hosted by HerUpland, which is a non-profit organization.

At the camp, participants learned about first-aid kits for dogs, how to prepare for NAVHDA, worked on field training, cleaned birds, and much more.
