Wild Rivers Coast Foundation for Dance We are a 501c3 nonprofit.

Our mission is to enrich lives by bringing dance and dance education to the Southern Oregon coast, fostering creativity, community, and cultural appreciation through inclusive and inspiring programs for all ages and abilities. Our mission is to educate and train dancers and the public about dance and the history of dance in its cultural context, promote art and cultural educational programs, and provide dance scholarships and other charitable outreach to promote dance and dance events in Curry County. We encourage and support the arts in collaboration with other entities to promote multi-cultural understanding, social justice, and eliminate prejudice and discrimination for all of the people of Curry County. We support dance education and dance programs by producing dance performances that include interpretive educational material and feature locally trained dancers and professional guest dancers.

We are working on something new at our Wild Rivers Dance Studios that I am really excited about.

JOY IN MOTION will be a NEW dance class especially for kids who might need a little more support to feel comfortable and successful in a traditional dance class.

Maybe your child is autistic, has Down syndrome, ADHD, developmental or physical disabilities, sensory needs, or just needs a smaller class with a little more patience and flexibility. We would love to have them.

This will be a real dance class with music, movement, coordination, learning and structure, but without any pressure that every child has to learn or participate in exactly the same way.

Some kids might jump right in. Some might need to watch for a while first. Some might need breaks. Some might do things a little differently. That's okay! I really want this to be a place where kids can come dance, have fun, make friends and feel good about themselves.

Right now we are putting classes together and trying to figure out what ages, days and times would work best for the families who need this. So if this sounds like something your child would enjoy, please reach out to me!Tell me a little about your child, their age, and what you're looking for. Even if you're not sure whether a dance class would work for them, let's talk. Call or text me directly 817-823-0684.

I would really love to hear from our local families and build this around the kids who are actually going to be in the room.

Joy in Motion... Because every kid deserves a chance to dance!

Our Wild Rivers Company Dancers are SOOO excited to be dancing today at the beautiful facilities within Eugene Ballet Company!! Jade and Emily are gearing up for their second week while Melody, Brooke, and Clover are just joining in today for week 2. The week is going to be packed with top notch instruction from Eugene Ballet staff.

They will be studying ballet, pointe and pre-pointe, variations, musical theater, contemporary, and hip hop, along with Pilates, terminology, injury prevention, and more! We are so thrilled for our dancers to have this amazing experience.

We want to thank everyone who has made this possible! This year our dancers have received generous support from Eugene Ballet Academy, Oregon Cultural Trust , Curry County Cultural Coalition , Oregon Community Foundation Wild Rivers Community Foundation and AllCare Health and generous private sponsors to make this happen! Thank you Alyssa Babin for the generous gift of hospitality and lodging.

For dancers from a rural, remote, and predominantly low-income dance school, opportunities like this are often out of reach and their dreams remain just that... dreams. But for these lucky dancers, their dreams are becoming their reality, step by step. Pirouette by pirouette. Leap by leap. They are growing into the serious dancers they so want to be! We couldn't be prouder!!

Dance your hearts out today girls!! We got your back!!

We would love for your dancer to join us! Fall classes will be registering soon!

If YOU would like to help make a local dancer's dream come true, please contact us to learn how to make a tax-deductible charitable contribution today. Every contribution helps and no amount is too small!

Our students are hard at work preparing for the next Spring Ballet, Alice in Wonderland!! Featured here is Meriwether who is building a giant cat puppet. Three truck loads full of cardboard, Styrofoam, and packing materials have been saved from the local landfill and are being transformed into a giant Cheshire Cat puppet, that when finished, will be brought to life by 6 puppeteers working in unison!
We may serve small-town kids, but we have no smallness of vision! We are honored to help our young people push their creative efforts to the next level and are grateful to those who support our work. Special thanks to Tiffani and Kevin at Barron's Home Furnishings and Sleep Center - Brookings Harbor for the cardboard!
And thank you to Oregon Cultural Trust and Oregon Community Foundation for supporting this production... It's going to be so fantastic!!
