What is your favorite activity in Block & Bridle?
My favorite activity is going on the tours. It is a great opportunity to learn and see how different livestock operations are operated.

Why did you join the exec team?
I joined the exec team, because I wanted to make a difference for a club that I believe has a lot of potential and growth to make it a very good club that a lot of student know about. I also wanted to gain more knowledge of the livestock industry, outside of the show industry.

What are your goals for Block & Bridle?
To have at least 5 members go to the National Block and Bridle Convention this February. To host a join event with other ag clubs on campus and have a big name speaker/person in the livestock industry speak.

Fun fact?
I am left handed.

Favorite part about being in Block & Bridle?: Being able to interact with industry leaders and tour state of the art facilities across South Dakota. Along with being able to connect with other students who have the same passion in the livestock industry as I do.

Why did you want to join the exec team?: I joined the team to allow new members to have an enjoyable experience and to allow them to meet and connect with industry leaders and professionals.

Future B&B goals?: I hope to continue interacting with members, and increase our community outreach in various events.

Fun Fact about yourself?: I have never broken a bone!

Welcome back to school, Block & Bridle members! Let’s start off the new semester by introducing our officers, Starting with our President, Emma Heine!

Year in School: Senior

Major: Animal Science and Ag Science

Favorite activity in Block & Bridle?: My favorite activity Block & Bridle offers is hearing different experiences and insight from other industry leaders. They provide valuable information from a commercial and corporate level that is necessary for all students to learn now and apply later in their careers.

Why did you want to join the exec team?: Since I was a freshman, I’ve always been heavily involved in the organization. Today, I’m honored to represent the club as President in offering support and leadership to all members and the executive committee. Having the role not only aids towards professional development, but applies critical thinking and engagement with students.

Future B&B goals?: For the short term, we are currently working towards helping students attend the 2026 National Convention and CattleCon while also providing diverse educational opportunities such as tours. For the road ahead, we aim towards membership retention and growth, along with extending future opportunities (e.g., Ag in the Classroom) for all students to experience.

Fun Fact about yourself?: I’m an amateur bodybuilder.
