At The Arts & Nature School LLC, we strive to educate and illuminate young minds through exploration and natural discovery in an outdoor classroom. Set on 1.25 acres, across from a 116-acre protected open space nature preserve, the Arts & Natu

re School's mission is to provide arts and nature-based learning for young children and their families through a wide variety of engaging, educational programming. To help children connect with the natural world, we utilize the outdoor classroom setting as much as possible, except for in extreme weather conditions. Children will enjoy opportunities to watch the many different types of wildlife on our land including a wide variety of birds, butterflies, bunnies, chipmunks, woodchucks and goats and chickens across the way! Kids can climb, dig, jump, play and marvel in the changing seasons. We endeavor to bring natural materials into our classroom and to enhance our curriculum to inspire curiosity and creativity.

✨☘️ BIG NEWS! The Arts & Nature School is now home of a new, licensed cottage bakery, the Celtic Cottage LLC! We have a self-service weekend farm stand open in Brookfield on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 8 AM to 6 PM.

☀️ ☔️ Looking for something to do indoors this rainy weekend? Check out the Newtown Earth Day celebration at Newtown Middle School! If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll be in the gym so you can still come shop, eat and celebrate. There will be live music, educational workshops and of course we will be there with our fresh bakes and sweet treats!

🦅 Beautiful red shouldered hawk perched on a sunflower 🌻 in our backyard. 💗

📖 Info from my bird app Picture Bird: “The hawk species is scientifically called Buteo lineatus and is known for being territorial and monogamous. To attract a mate, the hawk takes part in a courtship flight where it dances by flying high and making steep dives.

🥊 Territorial and combative, red-shouldered Hawk fiercely defends its domain against other raptors and perceived threats. A notable behavior is the male’s breathtaking courtship ‘sky dance,’ a series of commanding aerial displays culminating in a demonstration of aerial prowess and connection with the female.”

🦋 🐝 🌱✨ This year’s organic vegetable garden thrived and the 🐝 loved it! 💗 One of our best decisions was integrating flowers like salvia and marigolds into the raised beds. Not only did they add beauty, but they also helped keep pests away naturally, with zero pesticides needed. 🌸🥕🍅

We’re so inspired by the results that next year’s garden will be even bigger and better than ever! 🌿💚
