Want smarter children take them outside!
At Elmbrook Preschool we believe it is our responsibility to encourage our students to explore, examine and experience the world around them.
We build the foundation for life skills in science, math and reading that will propel children academically. Formerly Wauwatosa Nursery School, Elmbrook Preschool has been educating children for more than 60 years. We use a curriculum that taps into a child's imagination & creativity with additional skills needed to excel in 5K. We use Handwriting Without Tears, HighScope curriculum and opportunities for guided play.

Although we incorporate and celebrate nature every day in our classroom, the Green Room spent extra time this week to celebrate Earth Day and discuss ways we could help the Earth and it’s inhabitants become healthier and cleaner. Here are a few of our projects.

The Green Room had a great week of fun and learning with a lot of help from nature and the outdoors. We had an outdoor adventure day at school and a nature walk through Jacobus Park that ended with time to play at the playground. We found animal homes, beautiful leaves, acorns, animal tracks and cool rocks.

We have had a lot of fun studying, observing, playing and learning about trees, fall changes and the natural world around us these past couple weeks in the Green Room. We are really building our community, making friendships and having a great time together. Remember to stop in to our room each week and take a look around!

A few of the ways we celebrated the Chinese New Year. It is always fun to learn about other cultures, traditions and celebrations. The kids loved learning about the dragon dance, making our own dragon masks and practicing there own dragon dance with Mrs. Snider in movement class. They also loved the noodles we made for longevity and good luck and the oranges, tea and fortune cookies.
