Here we do our best to follow Frank Tsai SBN's excellent example of a Side Kick (Yup Podo Chagi in Korean) 😅 Perfection in martial arts as in many things doesn't truly exist for anyone. But the most important thing for any martial artist is to persevere and work hard to recreate the pictures and great examples that we were presented with. And to enjoy the journey of hard work and training to get there.

All great journeys share one essential thing in common: their beginning. Here are two of our white belts demonstrating the courage to try something new (and challenging). The white belt level is often dismissed for being the newest level but it is in reality a representation of someone’s willingness to challenge themselves and try something new. Most importantly it is a blank slate that shows that you are open to growth and learning new things. And every martial artist no matter how talented always starts with a white belt and the willingness to learn.

A huge congratulations to Aarush for formally being promoted to Cho Dan (1st Dan) in Soo Bahk Do! In order to attain this rank you have to train for an absolute minimum of three years, pass a pretest and do lots of additional training and then take a rigorous region-wide exam that takes the greater part of the day. It takes incredible hard work, dedication and sacrifice in order to reach the dan level. Once again, congratulations to Aarush for reaching this huge milestone in his training and we wish him well as he begins his studies at Boston University. Soo Bahk! 🥋👊
