Last week, several of our students had the opportunity to attend Woody’s Workshops at the Woody Guthrie Center in downtown Tulsa.

Students learned about Woody Guthrie’s life and how his personal experiences inspired his songwriting while participating in creative writing and songwriting activities, creating artwork, exploring the museums, touring the Arts District, and enjoying a live musical performance.

It was a fun and engaging opportunity to learn, create, and express themselves in new ways. Thank you to the Woody Guthrie Center for providing such a unique and inspiring experience!

A huge congratulations to these dedicated members of our Guitar Club! 🎸

Through the generosity of Mr. Meadors and a donor who wanted to support these students’ passion for music, these students received guitars of their own to continue practicing and growing their skills at home after consistently participating in Guitar Club this semester.

We are also thankful to our community partners, Opp Project LLC, for supporting the club, and the Bob Dylan Center & Woody Guthrie Center for loaning guitars for students to use throughout the semester. Opportunities like these make a lasting impact, and we are grateful for the support shown to our students and programs!

A BIG thank you to our amazing PTA for an incredible Teacher Appreciation Week! Our staff felt so loved and appreciated all week long with coffee and breakfast treats, a relaxing spa themed break room, a potato bar lunch, sweet and salty snacks, raffle baskets, and so many thoughtful surprises along the way.

We also loved seeing the posters and thank you messages students created and hung throughout the hallways to encourage and celebrate our teachers.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this week so special for our staff. We truly appreciate all of your support! ❤️🖤

Today, we welcomed back over 50 seniors from the Class of 2026 for our annual Senior Walk at UFA! Seniors were greeted with cheers from students and staff, enjoyed a special choir medley, and reconnected with former teachers while encouraging younger students to keep working toward graduation. We are so proud of the Class of 2026!🎓

Students in Mrs. Munoz’s ALA classes recently showcased their creativity, research, and writing skills through a special Book Show in the Media Center!

Each student created and published their own book, with many choosing to research topics of interest while others wrote original narratives. From researching and outlining to writing, designing covers, and presenting their finished work, students completed every step of the publishing process. They also incorporated academic vocabulary and skills learned throughout the year while creating impressive 20–25 page books.

We are proud of the hard work, creativity, and growth these students demonstrated through this project!
