When it comes to creating a workplace where it is difficult to get hurt we sometimes miss the obvious. See something, do something has been a saying that has gone through many workplaces.

If you want to do something about safety you have to be more than passionate, you have to know what you are talking about. If you work in a company that just checks the boxes on safety training then become better than your company, learn.

The web is full of good information that can help you learn and one place is osha.gov. Also, look around for an OSHA 10-30 hour class to take if you have not taken it through your company. Increasing your knowledge about safety can only help you ask the right questions and do the right things to prevent your injuries and others.

Safety is your responsibility first and everyone else’s second. Go out and reason your way by learning, thinking, discussing, and doing.
