Union Public Schools is a suburban school district – the eighth largest in Oklahoma – serving over 15,000 students, grades pre-K through 12, in southeast Tulsa and part of Broken Arrow. McAuliffe Elementary celebrated International Dot Day today.

International Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration observed every year on September 15.

The holiday is based on "The Dot," a famous children's book written and illustrated by Peter H. Reynolds. It follows a doubting student, who believes she cannot draw. Her art teacher encourages her to just "make a mark and see where it takes you". The story takes the young student on a journey of self-discovery and confidence.

Dear Union Parents/Guardians & Community Patrons - How confident are you in our local school system? It's a simple question -- but the answer matters now more than ever.

Union Public Schools is participating in the AASA National Research Initiative, a nationwide study benchmarking public confidence in K-12 education. We want to hear from parents, guardians and community members like you.
