Oklahoma Performing Arts - OPA

Oklahoma Performing Arts - OPA Creatively Growing Character! Oklahoma Performing Arts - OPA
a non-profit, community focused org.

At Oklahoma Performing Arts, we teach character through performance. Founded in 1996, Oklahoma Performing Arts is a nonprofit organization that teaches arts education programs for children ages 3 to 19. OPA offers ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, music, voice, acting and technical theater, as well as public performances, in diverse theatrical genres. Oklahoma Performing Arts takes a unique approach to arts education. In addition to teaching students how to dance, sing or perform on stage, OPA uses performing arts to help students develop the emotional intelligence, tenacity and grit they need to truly succeed in life. OPA uses a social-emotional learning (SEL) based performing arts curriculum to strengthen children’s emotional control, improve their self-concept, and empower them to establish and maintain healthy relationships. As a result of the SEL-based arts education, Oklahoma Performing Arts produces graduates who are resilient individuals with grit and good character.

What if Monday became the night you BOTH tried something new?

While our youngest performers learn, move, and grow at OPA, the adults can SHiNE!

Pre-Performers (ongoing) + SHiNE (starting in Oct.) = Monday nights at OPA.

Never danced before? Haven’t moved in years? Starting later than you planned?

Perfect.

Because no matter when you start, starting is the first step.

Come try OPA. Come try SHiNE (beginning in October, 2026). Come see what Monday nights can become.

WHAT’S ON THE MENU?

A boxed lunch, a little performance, good conversation—and a chance to discover what makes OPA different.

If you’ve been looking for something for your child that feels less like “just another activity” and more like a place where they can **learn, grow, belong, and be challenged at their own pace**, come meet us.

Saturday, September 12
2:00–3:30 p.m.

Come see what’s on the menu—and whether OPA might be the something different your family has been looking for.

So, why OPA?

Because your training should begin in trust.

Trust that foundation will be built.

Trust that you’ll be challenged—not simply placed.

Trust that your Teaching Artists will see where you are, what you need, and where you can grow next.

For more than 25 years, OPA has believed that strong training isn’t about proving you’re already “ready.” It’s about continuing to learn, refine, challenge, and grow.

Come see what OPA will add to your journey.

Trust the training. Keep growing.

What does arts education look like from the inside?

Ask the people living it.

The students who show up to learn.
The families who watch them grow.
The Teaching Artists who challenge and encourage them.
The team working behind the scenes to make the opportunities possible.

On September 12, we're pulling up some chairs—and inviting you to the table.

OPA Unplugged: Midday Meet & Eat
Saturday, September 12 | 2:00 p.m.

For Tickets: https://32231.encoreticketing.com/

Share a meal with us. Hear directly from our students, families, and OPA team. Catch a glimpse of Allenato's upcoming performance. Ask questions. And hear about more than 25 years of Oklahoma Performing Arts—where we've been, what we've learned, and where we're working to go next.

No big production.

No polished pitch.

Just real people, real experiences, a little art, and an opportunity to get to know OPA from the inside out.

Because when we talk about the importance of arts education, the people experiencing it should be part of the conversation.

MEET THE PEOPLE.

09.12 — Meet the People.
09.19 — Experience the Magic.
09.25–26 — See the Growth.

Three experiences. One OPA.

Creatively Growing Character.

September is National Arts in Education—and at Oklahoma Performing Arts, we're opening the doors.

Not once. Not twice. Three different ways.

This month, we invite you to experience OPA from the inside out.

SEPTEMBER 12 | 2:00 p.m.
OPA Unplugged: Midday Meet & Eat
Meet the people.

Pull up a chair and share a meal with our students, families, and team. Hear firsthand what OPA has meant in their lives, catch a glimpse of the work happening here, and join the conversation about where we've been, what we've learned, and where we're going.

SEPTEMBER 19 | 6:30 p.m.
ART 2.0: Don't Stop Us Now — OPA Magic Tour
Experience the magic.

What exactly makes OPA…OPA? We'll explain it.

Foundation. Discipline. Energy. Connection. Story.

More than 25 years of training, creating, serving, adapting, and growing—and perhaps a little controlled chaos along the way.

Cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m. The Magic Tour starts at 7:00 p.m.

SEPTEMBER 25 | 7:00 p.m.
SEPTEMBER 26 | 2:00 & 7:00 p.m.
Allenato: A Little Something Good
See the growth.

Our young artists take the stage with four works spanning classical ballet, jazz, modern movement, and musical theatre.

But what you see onstage is about more than a performance.

It's training becoming confidence.
Discipline becoming independence.
Creativity becoming expression.
Students becoming artists—and young people discovering more of who they can become.

Meet the people.
Experience the magic.
See the growth.

Three experiences. One OPA.

Because arts education doesn't simply create artists. It helps grow confident, disciplined, creative people prepared to contribute to their communities.

That's what we've been doing for more than 25 years.

And we're not stopping now.

Creatively Growing Character.
