Grandparents Day at Happy Hands gave our students a chance to show their grandparents a little bit of what happens in their classrooms each day. We love getting to welcome families into the school and let them see the community their grandchildren are part of!

At Happy Hands, we want every child who is Deaf or hard of hearing to have access to language and meaningful connection, so no child has to feel isolated. It’s one of the ways we live out our mission to empower children who are Deaf or hard of hearing to flourish in school and in life. 💙

We’re honored to be a contender for the 2026 Yass Prize!

The Yass Prize and STOP Awards Initiative recognizes education organizations that are Sustainable, Transformational, Outstanding and Permissionless. Since 2021, the Yass Foundation for Education has awarded more than $60 million in grants, including the prestigious $1 million Yass Prize to transform education.

The mission of Happy Hands is to empower children who are Deaf or hard of hearing to flourish in school and in life. We do this by educating children, nurturing families and building hope. Being named as a contender gives us a chance to share this mission with a national audience.

Every child deserves access to language, education, and the Gospel. At Happy Hands and Deaf Christian Academy, we empower children who are Deaf or hard of hearing to flourish in school and in life. Providing quality Deaf education and support costs about $25,000 per student each year, and your generosity helps make that possible.

This week, our students learned about how God created LIGHT and how light shines in the darkness. They also learned that light is what allows us to see color by chosing a color of tape to place over a flashlight and creating their own colored lights. They loved seeing the colors shine! Our students are learning about God’s Word while exploring the world He created! 🤩🤟💙
