Every Friday during the summer is Water Play Day at Happy Hands, but today was extra special!

The Broken Arrow Fire Department stopped by to open the hydrant, and our students had the best time running through the water and making some pretty great summer memories. If you're a kid, playing in a fire hydrant has to be near the top of the summer bucket list!

A huge thank you to the Broken Arrow Fire Department for taking the time to bless our students and for helping bring awareness to the mission of Happy Hands. We appreciate your partnership and your support of the children and families we serve!

☀️Summer session may look a little different, but learning never stops!

Our students are still learning and practicing new skills. Summer gives us the chance to enjoy different activities, spend extra time exploring, and make special memories with friends. We’re thankful for the excitement and enthusiasm our students bring each day and for the incredible teachers who guide them!🙌

We’ve loved having Tumble Smart visit throughout the summer!

Our students have had so much fun climbing, balancing, and working their way through the obstacle courses. These activities help develop coordination and strength while giving kids a chance to try something new. Thank you, Tumble Smart, for making this summer such a fun one for our students!

🌻 This class was fascinated by every part of this sunflower head! They brushed away the pollen, carefully picked out every seed, and even discovered the soft, spongy center inside. A few students were excited to take seeds home to plant their own!

Moments like these remind us that learning doesn’t always come from a worksheet. Sometimes it starts with a simple question, curious hands, and the chance to explore God’s creation together.

These two friends are talking about an upcoming birthday. They’re asking where the party will be, what they’ll do, if there will be swimming or laser tag, and what birthday money might buy.

It’s a conversation kids have every day. Without language, children don’t just miss learning. They can miss moments like these too.

At Happy Hands and Deaf Christian Academy, we equip children with language through ASL instruction so they can learn and build real friendships. Because language is about so much more than words. 💙

School may be out, but we’re getting ready for an exciting new year at Deaf Christian Academy!

This fall, we’ll be welcoming our very first fifth grade class and are excited to now be serving students in Kindergarten through fifth grade! As our school continues to grow, we are actively seeking a larger location that will better meet the needs of our students and provide space for the future God has planned for Deaf Christian Academy.

We can’t wait to see what God has in store this school year. 💙

Our second round of “When I Grow Up Day” dreams included more firefighters, a doctor, and even Moana! We loved seeing the creativity and confidence each child brought to their costume.
