📌 PLANNING COMMISSION THURSDAY: Proposed rezoning and conditional use permit for Islamic Center site

The Broken Arrow Planning Commission will hold a public hearing and consider a rezoning and conditional use request related to a proposed development for the Islamic Center of Tulsa.

The request includes rezoning approximately 15 acres from Agricultural (AG) to Commercial General (CG), along with a Conditional Use Permit for a place of assembly. The property is located about ½ mile north of Tucson Street (121st St.), just east of Olive Avenue (129th E. Ave.) and south of the Creek Turnpike.

This development has been in the works for years. Plans for a mosque in Broken Arrow were first announced over a decade ago, and property records show that North American Islamic Trust Inc. purchased the 15-acre site in 2014.

The proposed development includes:
• A commercial retail center along Olive Avenue
• The Islamic Center centrally located on the site
• A retention pond and open space in the floodplain area

Community Update : The PUD was approved tonight with a vote of 3 to 2 by the city council. We will continue to voice the concerns of the community and hope to work closely with the builder and city to make this the best possible outcome for our community, our children and our school’s.

IMPORTANT REMINDER
The Broken Arrow City Council will vote to approve or deny the proposed high-density development directly across from Spring Creek Elementary and Childers Middle School Tuesday night, April 16, at 6:30PM.

We encourage you to arrive early to fill out the opposition form. All forms must be turned in before the start of the meeting.

It’s critical we pack city hall again so our voices are heard. Let’s stand up for our schools, our children, and our community. We look forward to seeing you there!

UPDATE on the proposed high density housing development across from Spring Creek and Childers.

Tuesday, April 16th, at 6:30PM the Broken Arrow City Council will vote on this development. We need to show up and pack city hall so our voice is heard.

We need to pack city hall to voice our opposition to this high-density development across from Spring Creek Elementary and Childers Middle School.

Neighbors of Spring Creek & Ernest Childers Schools! Here is a quick update on the most recent proposed development regarding the 37 acres directly across from Spring Creek & Ernest Childers.

Reminder: The Planning Commission meeting is Thursday, March 28th, at 5:30pm. We are asking everyone to arrive early to fill out an opposition form (all forms must be submitted before the meeting starts at 5:30pm).

There has been a new rezoning request filed with the City of Broken Arrow for the property located on Tucson/121st St, directly across from Childers Middle School and Spring Creek Elementary. This request is from a new developer.

This rezoning request is for RS-4 High Density units. The highest density zoning possible for single family residence.

We are encouraging all residents to attend the City Planning Commission meeting on Thursday, March 28th at 5:30PM at city hall. The planning commission will be voting to approve or deny this request at this meeting.

Neighbors, your voices were heard!!! Today the Planning Commission voted no to rezoning the land in front of Earnest Childers and Spring Creek schools to RS4. The highest density zoning possible for single family residence. This is a huge win for our kids and our community.

The developer will have an opportunity to appeal to the City Council if they choose to. With that in mind we need to stay vigilant and watch to see if they do but you were ALL instrumental in becoming the communities voice! Thank you!!!
