We love Ms. Julie! Both of my children attend weekly meetings with her for various skill building. They look forward to the appointment and they leave the appointment feeling confident and grounded. The skills they have learned have helped them both academically as well as socially. In addition, our family has found more peace in the home. Julie has helped both parents learn the language of their children and educated us, as parents, on how we can both recognize our child’s behavior as well as respond more compassionately.

Every minor critique can feel like a tiny nick to a child's sense of self. Over time, relentless focus on mistakes becomes a death by a thousand cuts:
Death of confidence
Death of connection
Death of resilience
Before we step in to fix a behaviour, let's step in to connect. True growth happens when a child feels safe, seen, and valued, not constantly managed. Let's prioritise the relationship first.

The foundation of my practice is affirming learner identity work. Self awareness from an affirming perspective is the first step. Regulation, empowerment, advocacy, and executive function development follow.

Painting a bit today. I wish my office could double as an art studio. How much fun would it be to incorporate art into my ET/EF practice with neuro-divergent clients? I used to teach art classes at the Wichita Center for the Arts. Creating is therapeutic.
