These Books Are Fantastic

What a fantastic first PaperPie convention for me! I can’t wait to share more details that are coming with PaperPie! 🩵

Wow, what a packed day! Here’s a small glimpse of behind the scenes at the first full day of our convention!

After a delicious meal at a nearby Mexican restaurant, (brisket tacos and a nice helping of Mexican mashed potatoes) it was dress up time! Awards night was this evening, and it’s awesome to see these ladies get recognized for all they do to get books in the hands of children! 🩵💚

The first leg of the trip is done. I’m full of coffee and excess icing, (of course I didn’t waste it) and ready for Tulsa! 😄

Here’s a story…..👗
I will be heading to Tulsa this week for their annual convention (to which I’ve never been in person). I have a dress (actually several) to wear the evening of awards night.
Y’all, I had so much trouble deciding what to wear, so two days before I leave, I asked my husband to help me decide.

We both agreed on one of the dresses👗and I carefully took off the dress and noticed the zipper was stiff going down. I did get it down, changed into my other clothes, went to zip the dress back up on the hanger, and a piece from the zipper slightly shredded the back of the dress 😮 😮 And then, the end of the zipper broke off when I got to the top. 😭😭😭

So what’s a girl to do on packing day? I really, really didn’t want to go on another dress hunt, so I scanned the barcode to find the same dress near me. Well, the closest one was an hour away.

Even though it was an hour away, I knew I could go get the dress and be back faster than I could go to our local store and find a totally new one. So this morning, I went on a little adventure: found the exact dress, tried it on again, hung it up, pulled that zipper up and down about 10 times, and even found some pretty sparkly shoes to go with it! ✨ 💖
