Monday morning bliss! So many great Positive Office Referrals to celebrate! Way to show what it is to be an Oak Crest T-I-G-E-R!! We had good reports of showing respect to the substitute, to helping be a good friend when someone is sad, and even a good role model from our Kindergartener! Don’t mind Mr. Hadley’s Michigan shirt, it’s ok. 😉

Wow it’s already Tuesday! And how awesome is it that we get to shout out some of our awesome 5th grade leaders who showed up last week while their teacher was out with a substitute. Being a substitute is hard work and they’re our every day heroes! Sometimes, that can be difficult… but not for these kids!! These kids showed up the Oak Crest way using manners and expectations for their sub! And they were rewarded today with Positive Office Referrals! Way to set the bar high guys and gals! We are so proud of you!

It really is important… plus we love having all of our students here every day that we can. However, should the need arise, please be sure to call the office and speak with our Attendance Secretary to report your child’s absence.

September is Attendance Awareness Month!

Did you know missing just two days of school each month can add up to 10% of the school year? Regular attendance helps students stay on track academically, build strong relationships and feel connected to their school community.

A few ways families can help:
• Create a consistent morning routine.
• Prepare backpacks, shoes and other essentials the night before.
• Schedule appointments and vacations outside of school hours when possible.
• Pay attention to patterns of school-related stress or anxiety.
• Remind students that showing up helps them learn, connect and grow.

Every day at school matters, so let’s make a pact to BE HERE, BA!

Mrs. Hurst is so much fun! She set up some reading with therapy dogs for our students who want to participate. Today was the first of many, and we got to meet Luka, Sully, and Niko today. These dogs are and their handlers have been through extensive training to participate… They were so much fun in the library. There will be more opportunities ahead! The dogs even came with training cards to share!
